Resilient South County
Starting a needed conversation.
Bryan
Bay

Project
Creator
Resilient South County is Bryan Bay's Architectural Thesis, intended to provoke conversation about what the future holds for the small town communities scattered around the Chesapeake Bay. This project aims not only to a start conversation, but to start our exploration of which resilient infrastructures can be deployed to preserve both the natural and built environments.
Below is his thesis documentation book, which he continually adds to as the thesis year continues. The end result of this book will be a comprehensive resiliency plan for South County.

By 2100, ~70% of the Shady Side Peninsula may be
under water.
Shady side is not alone, the entire Chesapeake's cultures and communities are at risk...
Sea Level Rise will change our lives, but we can guide how.
We need change. We need resiliency advocacy.
